The Paramedical Tattoo Apprenticeship Program at the Academy of Advanced Cosmetics is designed for artists who want to specialize in scar camouflage and restorative tattoo procedures.

Paramedical tattooing is one of the fastest-growing areas of the industry, helping clients restore confidence after surgery, injury, burns, or medical treatments.

This apprenticeship combines hands-on training, supervised clinic experience, and mentorship so students graduate confident in performing advanced paramedical procedures.

Program Overview

Program Length: Approximately 4–6 months

Training includes:

• Intensive bootcamp training
• Hands-on clinic experience with models
• Portfolio development
• Instructor mentorship and guidance
• Final evaluations and certification

 

Students graduate with the skills needed to begin offering paramedical tattoo services.

 

Certifications Included

Students receive certifications in several high-demand paramedical procedures including:

• Scar Camouflage
• Inkless Scar Revision
• Stretch Mark Camouflage
• Burn Scar Camouflage
• Vitiligo Camouflage
• Areola Repigmentation / 3D Nipple Tattoo
• Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

 

These services are commonly offered in:

• medical spas
• plastic surgery offices

Students receive a professional starter kit capable of servicing up to 40 clients, including:

• Professional tattoo machine
• Pigments and cartridges
• Practice skins
• Mapping tools and supplies

• Instructor supervision and feedback
• Portfolio development assistance
• Business and marketing guidance

 

Begin Earning While You Train

 

During the apprenticeship program, students participate in supervised clinic blocks where they work with models.

 

Many students choose to charge reduced model rates during these sessions.

For example:

Scar camouflage procedures commonly average $400–$800 per session in the marketplace.

 

Just 2–3 clients per month can significantly offset the cost of training while building your portfolio.

 

Continue Working at Our Facility

 

Graduates may continue working within our facility through our room rental option.

 

This allows artists to:

• rent a treatment room when needed
• bring their own clients
• operate with very low overhead
