Apprenticeship Program Overview

At the Academy of Advanced Cosmetics (AAC), our Apprenticeship Program is designed to take you from student to confident, client-ready professional through a 3-Phase Pathway. Unlike traditional training, this model blends structured Boot Camps, guided Clinics, and portfolio-based finals—ensuring you graduate with skill, speed, and confidence.

Every program includes hands-on practice with live models, instructor mentorship, and a clear roadmap that builds both artistry and business readiness.

Who It’s For

  • New artists who want a proven step-by-step roadmap with accountability

  • Past AAC students seeking additional supervised reps and portfolio polish

  • Working adults who need flexible scheduling with half-day AM/PM blocks

  • Artists trained elsewhere who want clinic-only mentorship (see Clinic Blocks)

The 3 Phases of Apprenticeship

Phase 1: Boot Camp

  • In-person, intensive training sessions that cover foundations, technique, and safety.

  • Learn step-by-step with your kit and practice tools included (where noted).

  • Build confidence in core skills before working on live models.

Phase 2: Guided Clinics

  • Scheduled half-day clinic blocks (9–1 or 1–5) with live models.

  • You’ll practice under instructor supervision with real-time feedback, safety checks, and portfolio photography guidance.

  • Clinics are released gradually while payments are current, ensuring fair pacing and accountability.

Phase 3: Finals & Portfolio Boards

  • Demonstrate your skills through supervised final models.

  • Submit a portfolio board for review—graduates typically need 5 approved models, though AAC may require more to ensure mastery.

  • Upon successful completion, you graduate AAC-certified and may be invited to interview for Elite Ink @ AAC opportunities.

Scheduling & Flexibility

  • Boot Camps are completed in person; many check-ins can be virtual for out-of-town students.

  • Clinics are flexible: book AM or PM blocks around your schedule.

  • Access to Boot Camps and Clinics continues as long as payments are current.

Apprenticeship Program — FAQs

1. What’s the difference between Boot Camp and Clinics?

  • Boot Camp → An in-person, intensive training session where you learn foundations, safety, and techniques with your kit.

  • Clinics → Half-day practice blocks (9–1 or 1–5) with live models under instructor supervision. Clinics are where you build speed, skill, and portfolio content.

2. How many models do I need to graduate?

Most programs require 5 approved models to sit for finals and complete your portfolio board. AAC may require more to ensure your work meets our mastery standards.

3. How are the 3 Phases structured?

  1. Phase 1: Boot Camp — Learn core techniques and safety foundations.

  2. Phase 2: Guided Clinics — Practice on live models with instructor feedback.

  3. Phase 3: Finals & Portfolio Boards — Submit approved models and present your portfolio to graduate.

4. Can I work while enrolled?

Yes. Clinics are booked in half-day blocks, so you can schedule around work and family obligations.

5. How flexible is the pacing?

Standard programs release Boot Camp and Clinics gradually over 3, 4, or 6 months depending on the program. If you need slower pacing, the Flex 10 plan allows smaller monthly payments with training released more gradually.

6. What happens if I miss a payment?

Your training access pauses until your account is current. Boot Camps, Clinics, and Finals can only be scheduled when payments are up to date.

Yes. Guest artists can book Clinic Blocks (3, 6, or 12) with proof of prior training. We’ll place you in the right clinic group and tailor your focus.

8. Are kits included?

Yes, kits are included in programs where noted (e.g., Brows, Cosmetic, Paramedical, Master’s). Specialty materials may have small add-on fees.
